The Magnificent Mile has your soundtrack to summer with three FREE summer concerts!
Friday, June 25, 2010: Bop your head to Michael Franti & Spearhead, a cool group that blends hip hop with a variety of influences including funk, reggae, jazz, folk and rock as heard in hit song “Say Hey (I Love You)". The band is fresh off their spring tour with John Mayer after having played at President Obama’s inauguration events this past January. Tyler Hilton from One Tree Hill is the opening act.
Friday, July 9, 2010: Enjoy the sensational sounds of Kris Allen, winner of the eighth season of American Idol. He released his self-titled album on November 17, 2009 featuring popular hits “Live Like We’re Dying” and “The Truth.”
Friday, August 27, 2010: Don't miss the final concert featuring the acoustic sound of “Guster.” Known for their live performances, humor and cult following, the band’s untitled sixth studio album is set to be released in September. Hit songs include “Satellite” and “One Man Wrecking Machine”.

For more than 40 years, the trees along North Michigan Avenue have been illuminated to signal the official start of the holiday season in Chicago. Join Mickey Mouse, his Disney friends, musical and movie celebrities and more for a festive lighting of more than one million lights along North Michigan Avenue followed by a spectacular fireworks show over the Chicago River. Enjoy a full day of free activities, popular concerts and holiday shopping all day along Chicago's Magnificent Mile.
