Welcome to Queertopia
Read more about the latest public art installation along The Magnificent Mile by local artist, Sam Kirk:
"The Queertopia installation, which was unveiled at World Pride in New York City in 2019, celebrates the many faces and cultures that are part of our LGBTQIA Community. For those of us who aren’t seen in the usual forms of representation, I hope you enjoy the happiness, love, and spirit that is shared in each piece. May this installation contribute to the many conversations that have already been started around inclusion, unity, and change - so that we are visible, welcomed, and respected in every neighborhood and throughout the year."
Artwork is installed at Pioneer Court (401 N. Michigan Avenue), The Shops at North Bridge, Starbucks Reserve Roastery Chicago and Navy Pier through the end of July. You can also find Sam's work displayed at the Chicago Cultural Center as part of the City of Chicago's Pride 2020 campaign: Inside Out.
Queertopia as a series celebrates the many faces of the LGBTQIA Community, for all our personality, for the community and family we build, for the many ways we love, share, and uplift each other.
