Help Our Athletes Unleash Their Inner Champion
While Special Olympics Illinois is primarily a sports organization for the intellectually disabled, they are much more. Your support helps pay for the 23,100+ athletes that compete in over 200 competitions in our state, in just one year, as Special Olympics Illinois does not charge for its athletes to participate.
Did you know that Special Olympics is the largest health organization in the world for the intellectually disabled and that athletes in Illinois receive that same attention? Your donation helps pay for that!
Also, through its Unified Champion Schools initiative, did you know that Special Olympics Illinois works with over 300 elementary, high school and colleges in Illinois to empower those with intellectual disabilities to unify with their student peers to not just compete together on the field of play, but off, through all-inclusive whole school engagement? Your donation pays for that, too!
Please continue to read ways in which you can support the athletes of Special Olympics Illinois this holiday season, some of who live and compete right in your own town.

We ask you that you join the Inclusion Revolution and make a donation on Giving Tuesday – which will be a 2X’s match to double your impact.

Champions Together
Are looking for another way to give to Special Olympics Illinois and cross a few gifts off of your holiday list? Take part in the Champions Together on-line auction.
These past few months have brought challenges for everyone, across the globe. For Special Olympics Illinois athletes, while they have been able to attend in-person, in a limited capacity, practices and spend time with teammates, they have not been able to fully participate in the sports that bring them joy.
That is why now, more than ever, we must be ready to support them in the coming year as we prepare to add more competitions.
It is important to remember that the athletes of Special Olympics Illinois meet at the intersection of race, color, nationality, religion, sexual orientation and, of course, disability. But in all walks of diversity, sports is one of the true international languages. For this holiday season, the Champions Together online auction helps to celebrate and support these athletes. Browse, bid, and help Special Olympics Illinois strive to be champions together during the auction, running now to December 1.
Winning has never been this easy, as you can take your pick of memorable auction items from the comfort of your home. Packages include staycation experiences, sports memorabilia, holiday décor, and more. We will also feature items that have come directly from the athletes you support in our athlete-inspired section.
