COVID-19 Conscious: Current Regulations
Slowly but surely, and always safely, businesses are opening up along The Magnificent Mile. We can’t wait to welcome you back soon! The city of Chicago is closely monitoring key health metrics and loosening some restrictions when possible, while maintaining with health and safety as a top priority.
Chicago has recently moved towards indoor dining with limited capacity capped at 50%. Certain restaurants offer outdoor dining with heated lamps and fire pits for a cozy experience even in cold weather. Museums and attractions are re-opening with limited capacity and launching special exhibits. And a shopping spree is the perfect excuse to walk our wide open boulevard, which is lined with seasonal gardenscapes and iconic architecture.
Current COVID-19 Regulations
When you decide to join us on the mile, here are some measures to keep in mind for the health and safety of yourself and others.
No, you don’t have to be a mile apart, but remember to keep a distance of at least 6 feet between you and the next person.
Wear a Mask
Face coverings not only protect yourself and others from spreading germs, but are also a great winter accessory and additional way to stay warm in the Windy City!
If you forgot your hand sanitizer at home, stop in to Walgreens and stock up on a travel sized bottle to use on the go!
When dining out, make sure to check the restaurants fine print and Covid regulations. Reservations are limited to groups of 6 or less, so please visit restaurants’ listings on our website, consider calling ahead, and plan accordingly.
The city of Chicago has a 50% capacity in retail stores, attractions, and restaurant dining with a maximum of 50 people, whichever comes first. Outdoor activities also have a 50% capacity with a maximum of 100 people, in addition to the social distance measures. This avoids overcrowding and an enjoyable experience on the mile!
