Back for its fourth year, LondonHouse Chicago hosts its annual Nordic Series – four evenings of cocktail tastings and food pairings inspired by Nordic flavors and fare.
This year, Head of Mixology Adam Peabody curates a cocktail menu inspired by the tastes and ingredients of Scandinavia, Iceland, Finland, Norway, and beyond. Each cocktail tasting is paired with a selection of passed bites crafted by Executive Chef Liz Sweeney, Chef de Cuisine Justin Gomes, and Executive Pastry Chef Thomas Gorczyca.
The five-course menu of Nordic-inspired cuisine and beverages starts with a Warrior Glogg to warm up guests, made with gin, chamomile, honey, pinot noir, and star anise; paired with a Porcini Mushroom Tea with barley and pickled hon shimeji. The Living in Style cocktail crafted with vodka, dry vermouth, olive juice, and EVOO foam pairs with Beef Tartare, Fennel Cured Salmon, and King Crab. The menu continues with bites such as Bosna Sausage with caramelized onion and winter berries, Skyr with buckwheat honey and lingonberry, the Jarl’s Smokebox made with whiskey, black truffle, pu-erh tea, and smoked with maplewood, and more.
LH Rooftop ensures guests at the Nordic Series keep cozy with an enclosed area to block the wind while keeping the skyline views uninhibited, heaters, and faux fur coats guests can don for the duration of the event.
