  • The Eli's Cheesecake Company

In 1980, restaurateur Eli Schulman decided cheesecake would be the signature dessert at his legendary Chicago steakhouse, Eli's The Place For Steak.  His unconventional no-water bath, fast and hot baking method resulted in a beautiful caramelization on the outside and a rich and creamy consistency on the inside.  The key to Eli's unique taste and texture is sourcing the purest and best ingredients, like Madagascar Vanilla from Nielsen-Massey, and baking in small batches with custom slow-cultured cream cheese and sour cream.

All of our desserts are handmade and decorated by a team of extraordinary pastry chefs at our bakery located on Chicago's northwest side. Eli's Cheesecake and desserts can be shipped anywhere in the continental USA, and local delivery is available. Still a family-owned business, Eli's is committed to quality, empowering its workforce and following our founder's mantras:  "Charity will never bust you" and "Treat others as if you were the other."

A Special Appeal

In the Spring of 2020, The Magnificent Mile Association made the difficult decision to cancel its Annual Gala.  As one of the organization’s primary sources of revenue, the financial loss was devastating.  To ensure that The Association’s 108 year mission of service to its members and The Magnificent Mile district continued, a special emergency funding appeal was launched to offset this loss.

Members of the Board of Directors, longstanding Gala supporters and other stakeholders were asked to contribute at levels consistent with their past support.  A new revenue goal of $200,000 was established along with an effort to retain more than $100,000 that had already been contributed to the event prior to the COVID pandemic.

Thanks to the leadership and generosity of many, the goals established for the Special Appeal were achieved.  While our gratitude and appreciation is extended to all that contributed, it is our pleasure to recognize major donors to this important effort here.
