About the producer: One of the most trusted, respected and awarded tequila authorities in Mexico, Mijenta's Maestra Tequilera Ana María Romero brings over 25 years of experience in the tequila industry. Ana María believes that every single aspect of the process matters, which is reflected in the craft that goes into each stage of Mijenta’s journey. Both art and science play a role in creating Mijenta’s style, which elevates the agave, along fruit with floral aromas and hints of minerality.

Our award-winning, additive-free, sustainable tequila is distilled exclusively using fully mature Blue Weber agave from the highlands of Jalisco. Each sip of Mijenta tells a story. We use only the best ingredients and a meticulous process to capture all the nuances of the agave and the terroir of the region. Commitment to perfection lives in every detail.

"Through innovation, close collaboration with local suppliers and partnerships with like-minded organizations, we have worked from the outset to create a positive, lasting impact. For us, sustainability is about leaving a better world for our children, and we are excited to do even more as we continue to grow." - Co-founder & director of sustainability, Elise Som

About the florist: When Angelica Varela thinks of childhood, she's surrounded by lush plants in her Mexican grandmother's home. If Varela had a bad day, her grandmother would set a plant before her and tell her to describe its every detail. By shifting her focus to plants, Varela felt a boost in her mental health.

So when the pandemic hit and Varela found her mental health in flux, she went back to her roots. In July of 2020, Varela opened Semillas Plant Studio in hopes of sharing her cultural knowledge of plant medicine with Chicago's Pilsen community, where she grew up.

"Semillas," meaning seeds in Spanish, is both a nod to creating a business rooted in her heritage and to her mission to give back to the community. Varela collaborates with various local artists and entrepreneurs, allowing them to sell their goods in her studio, and thus giving them the space to plant their own "semillas" in the community.
