The enchanting Winter Wonderland returns to The Godfrey with its popular clear-domed, heated igloos, which allow guests to cozy up inside to enjoy sweeping city views, whether snowing or sunny.
The Godfrey Hotel announces the return of its Winter Wonderland activation and series of events on Saturday, November 23, in conjunction with the Magnificent Mile Lights Festival and Parade.
Winter Wonderland visitors can also enjoy outdoor heaters, a snow machine for when real flurries aren’t falling, toasty firepits, s’mores-making kits, a selection of bubbling hot cocktails served in interactive siphon coffee makers, and a seasonal menu of shareable plates and sushi.
The Godfrey’s series of winter events taking place at the Winter Wonderland includes:
- Saturday, November 23: Winter Wonderland 2019 kick-off celebration
At the Winter Wonderland yearly kick-off, guests can be one of the first to rent an I|O Godfrey igloo and enjoy the new winter menu. The Godfrey is just a walk away from the Magnificent Mile Lights Festival and Parade. This event is free and open to the public.
- Thursday, November 28: Thanksgiving at The Godfrey
Thanksgiving classics and family-style fare are served at The Godfrey’s annual Thanksgiving supper. Gather with friends and family to give thanks for the year ahead with carving stations, comfort foods, pastas, housemade pies, and of course, turkey. - Tuesday, December 24: Christmas Eve with Santa
Guests may visit with Santa, sip specialty hot cocoa, enjoy live holiday tunes, and snap the perfect Christmas photo amongst The Godfrey’s Winter Wonderland décor.
- Tuesday, December 31: New Year’s Eve
Ring in 2020 with a rooftop romp at I|O Godfrey, where guests may toast to the new year, enjoy craft cocktails, and snack on globally inspired dishes in the final hours of 2019.
- January 2020 (date TBD): Rosé Fest
This ticketed event invites Chicagoans to cheers to rosé wines in the winter. Guests can sample different varieties of rosé, enter giveaways, and take in panoramic views.
- Saturday, February 22: Godfrey Ball
This elegant soirée celebrates The Godfrey Hotel Chicago’s sixth anniversary. Attendees are invited to dress their best for the event, which includes a champagne greeting, passed hors d’oeuvres, live music, dancing, and more.
