SafeHouse celebrates National Spy Day with an evening of espionage, betrayal, mystery, and long-time sitcom fans.

 Chicago’s only spy-themed experiential bar and restaurant, hijacks April’s agenda for a covert celebration on April 12.

“Threat Level Midnight” introduces Michael Scott’s screenplay of a suspenseful murder mystery about crime-solving secret agents, starring his beloved coworkers from Dunder Mifflin. The script features characters like Agent Michael Scarn, archnemesis Goldenface (Jim Halpert), robot butler Samuel L. Chang (Dwight Schrute), and Cherokee Jack (Creed). Scene favorites include “The Scarn” dance, which boosts Michael’s morale, and Goldenface’s fancy stunts when slaying a civilian (Toby Flenderson).

SafeHouse’s Threat Level Midnight event begins at 10:00 p.m. on Friday, April 12, disguising its dwelling with an undercover celebration for National Spy Day. Guests are encouraged to dress up as their favorite character from the episode. After passing the “clearance test” for entry, spies will receive agent nametags to expose their character identity for the evening (Michael Scarn or Goldenface?). The best-dressed will win a $100 bar tab to SafeHouse to be redeemed at their next visit. Additionally, spies can expect a special song list from a live DJ, including “The Scarn,” along with episode reruns from “Threat Level Midnight” on the Control Center’s screens.

Threat Level Midnight attendees can enjoy unlimited well cocktails, draft beer, and house wine from 10 p.m. – 12 a.m. with the purchase of a ticket ($35). SafeHouse’s Agents have also prepared drink specials for the evening, like the It Only Takes One to Ruin It For Everyone ($6), a Miller Lite with a shot of Jägermeister, or the Late Again ($7)—brandy, gin, Cointreau, lemon juice, and pineapple juice shaken and topped with egg white. Tickets can be purchased on Eventbrite, which also enter each ticketholders in to a raffle for a one-night stay at the AC Hotel.
