The Art Institute will once again open their doors to visitors on Thursday, July 30!
With nearly 300,000 works of art dating back to 5,000 BC, the Art Institute of Chicago is consistently ranked a top museum in the world.
Of course, the museum experience will be a little different, as they’ve taken precautions to protect the health and safety of visitors and our staff.
Please note the following changes:
- For touchless entry, advance ticket purchase—including reserving free tickets—is required.
- Face coverings must be worn in all museum spaces.
- A six-foot distance from others not part of your visiting group must be maintained at all times.
See the full list of new visiting policies.
As a special welcome back, the museum will be offering free admission to all Illinois residents July 30 - August 3. Just be sure to reserve your free ticket online before your visit.
