The tri-level rooftop at LondonHouse Chicago brings limited-time, DIY sundae bar to exclusive Cupola space
LondonHouse Chicago introduces Sundaes in the Sky – a month-long activation at the apex of the hotel’s tri-level rooftop, LH Cupola. From the open-air, beaux-arts structure on the 23rd floor, guests can create their own sundaes while taking in sweeping city views this June.
Sundaes in the Sky will be available at LH Cupola every weekend in June starting June 2, Saturday through Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. A variety of ice cream and sorbet flavors and sundae toppings, created by Executive Chef Jacob Verstegen, will be offered in the historic 1923 structure that crowns the top of LondonHouse Chicago. Crafted using liquid nitrogen, the seasonal treats include Tahitian Vanilla Frozen Yogurt made with goat’s milk, Afghanistan Saffron Sorbet (vegan), XOCO Cacao Ice Cream, and Watermelon Sorbet (vegan).
Guests can pile mix-ins onto their frozen desserts, choosing from toppings such as double fudge caramel brownies, aquafaba meringue (vegan), freeze-dried strawberries, mint sprinkles, green tea whipped cream, and white chocolate streusel. The final step in the do-it-yourself sundaes is a drizzle of syrup, with options including mint, butterscotch, coconut, orange, and watermelon.
Whether guests prefer cooling off with a fruit-forward sorbet or a rich, chocolate-y ice cream, LH Rooftop’s Sundaes in the Sky has a frozen treat for everyone, with a side of rooftop views. Each sundae costs $10 and, the June activation is available on a first come, first served basis at LondonHouse Chicago’s rooftop, accessible via the 21st floor.
