Promenade of Art returns to kick off your summer with a weekend full of community and creativity. In the heart of Arlington Heights, located in the downtown area, over 100 juried artists will highlight their original work in a variety of different mediums. The event will be held on Saturday and Sunday, June 10th and June 11th from 10 am – 5 pm.
“It’s going to be a fantastic weekend filled with sunshine, fresh air and artistic creation,” says Amy, president of Amdur Productions, producers of the Promenade of Art. “The viewers have a unique opportunity to see these art masters at work through live art demonstrations including pottery making and wheel throwing.”
Arlington Heights, a Chicago suburb, is home to a rising 76,000 residents amid upscale apartments, boutiques and cafes, and the best place for Promenade of Art. Attendance and parking at the show is free, and there will be local food from neighboring restaurants, live musical performances. In addition, there is easy transportation access from the Metra. Simply take the Union Pacific Northwest Metra Line to the Arlington Heights Station and enjoy the pleasures of art!
Young art festival attendees are invited to visit the youth art area to participate in “Draw for the Troops,” a new program launched this year by Amdur Productions. Kids of all ages are welcome to color a special picture for the brave men and women serving our country. At the end of the show, the drawings will be sent by Amdur to the troops stationed in the U.S. and abroad. Kids will also enjoy art fest bingo, spin art, coloring and a graffiti wall.
“Artists have an incredible chance to sell their pieces to viewers looking for exquisite art,” Amy adds, “The beauty of Arlington Heights sets this festival apart from others, and creates an atmosphere of friendly interaction between artist and potential collector.” Mark your calendars this June and experience art to its finest!
Amdur Productions is pleased to announce that the American Cancer Society is the charity chosen for this festival’s Green Ribbon Project. Participating artists will be placing a green ribbon on a piece of art in their booth. If the piece is sold during the Promenade of Art, then the artist will donate 10% of the proceeds to the American Cancer Society. The American Cancer Society is on a mission to fund and conduct research, share expert information and support patients to live a world free from cancer.
