Celebrate poetry as a vibrant and modern public art with Poets in Parks artists-in-residence Steve Bellin-Oka (2019) and Xochitl-Julisa Bermejo (2017). Poets in Parks is a unique partnership of the Poetry Foundation, the National Parks Arts Foundation, the National Parks Service, and the Gettysburg Foundation, which selects poets for month-long residencies at Gettysburg National Military Park. Bellin-Oka’s collection Instructions for Seeing a Ghost won the 2019 Vassar Miller Prize; he is a Tulsa Artists Fellow. Bermejo is a poet and activist and the author of Posada: Offerings of Witness and Refuge; her work has been published in American Poetry Review, crazyhorse, Calyx, and Acentos Review, among others.
