Treasured steakhouse Lawry’s The Prime Rib is now accepting reservations for its first-ever private mansion tours, providing small groups a glimpse into the rarely seen second level of the former McCormick Mansion.
Beginning September 15, private groups of between 8-10 guests can take a mansion tour with Lawry’s very own private guide, Shannon Tauschman, and go behind the scenes of the McCormick Mansion’s storied past (and present). During this private tour, Shannon provides an exclusive look into the 128-year-old McCormick Mansion’s past detailing its Kungsholm Puppet Theatre days during the 1950’s. Shannon also provides a look at the Kungsholm puppet stage and lair, secret rooms on the second level, and a miniature Opera workshop while she also recounts spooky occurrences at the mansion throughout her 14 years on staff. The private mansion tours are perfect for gifting to the history buff in the family, celebrating special occasions with the privacy of your immediate group, getting spooked with friends before Halloween, or just for a unique night out in downtown Chicago.
A tour ticket includes a variety of elevated seasonal bites and classic Lawry’s fare alongside cocktails at various stops along the way. Tour duration is 2 hours with start times between 4-7 p.m., Tuesdays-Sundays. Reservations are required and must be booked 48 hours in advance. This tour is not wheelchair accessible. Guests will be guided up and down various flights of stairs with no elevator access.
