From the Driehaus to your own (gingerbread) house, let the art, architecture, and design of the late 19th century inspire your creativity. Intended for families and groups of up to four people per house, this workshop will surprise and delight with a deluxe and delicious craft experience.
Discover your inner Louis Sullivan, the master of decorative ornament, and get inspiration from walking around the Nickerson Mansion before you start designing (tickets include same-day Museum admission). If you don’t have the time, don’t worry—we’ll provide you with plenty of ideas! With freshly baked, pre-built gingerbread houses and assorted, abundant gingerbread people and trees, candies, glitter, and other ornament provided by Chicago baker Love, Sugar, & Grace, there is plenty to fuel your imagination and help you create your own edible abode. We’ll send you home with an additional craft.
One House kit will be provided per ticket. If you wish to build more than one house, please purchase another ticket. Once you reserve your spot, you will be asked to confirm how many adults and children will be in your group. The approximate dimensions of the house are 5” x 5.5” x 6.25”.
Ticket includes same-day Museum admission. The activity is geared toward ages six and up.
