The magnificent Chicago Botanic Garden in Glencoe, Illinois sets the stage for the 7th annual Chicago Botanic Garden Art Festival. Come see the exceptional work of 95 juried artists in a pristine setting overlooking a lake, spectacular gardens.

The magnificent Chicago Botanic Garden in Glencoe, Illinois sets the stage for the 7th annual Chicago Botanic Garden Art Festival. Come see the exceptional work of 95 juried artists in a pristine setting overlooking a lake, spectacular gardens and 385 acres of nature’s glorious majesty. What’s unique and different about this show is that all of the artwork embodies a botanic theme, use or material. The festival opens on Friday, June 30th from 4 to 8 pm for a “Members Only” preview. The fest is then open to the public Saturday and Sunday, July 1st and 2nd from 10 am to 5 pm both days. Admission is FREE. Regular parking fees apply.

“The stunning backdrop of the Chicago Botanic Garden is unmatched and sets the tone for this one-of-a-kind show,” says Amy Amdur, president of Amdur Productions, producer of the Chicago Botanic Garden Festival. “Attendees will have the opportunity to stroll through the fest, enjoy the gorgeous surroundings, and interact with the artists through live art demonstrations and booth chats.

For those who work up an appetite, food will be available for purchase from the Chicago Botanic Garden’s newly renovated Garden View Café, featuring local sustainably produced seasonal ingredients. There will also be live music throughout the weekend.

Young art festival attendees are invited to visit the youth art area to participate in “Draw for the Troops,” a new program launched this year by Amdur Productions. Kids of all ages are welcome to color a special picture for the brave men and women serving our country. At the end of the show, the drawings will be sent by Amdur to the troops stationed in the U.S. and abroad. Kids will also enjoy art fest bingo, spin art, coloring and a graffiti wall.

Amdur Productions is also pleased to announce that Autism Speaks is the charity chosen for this festival’s Green Ribbon Project. Participating artists will be placing a green ribbon on a piece of art in their booth. If the piece is sold during the Chicago Botanic Garden Art Festival, then the artist will donate 10% of the proceeds to Autism Speaks. Autism Speaks is an organization dedicated to promoting solutions, increasing acceptance and advancing research for the needs of individuals with autism and their families.
