The Magnificent Mile Shopping Festival™ presented by MasterCard® offers a full lineup of fashionable festivities! The 12-day celebration returns this summer, August 21 through September 1.
From fashion shows to outdoor concerts and culinary celebrations, The Magnificent Mile® is THE place to end the summer season. See below for a sample of events that took place in Summer 2013.
MAGNIFICENT MAIN EVENTS
#ShopFest: A Kick-Off to Fall Fashion
Award-winning recording artist Jason Derulo performed live on the runway as The Magnificent Mile presented the latest fashion trends with special guest host Emmy-Nominated Actress Christina Hendricks.
The season's hottest trends were showcased by 900 North Michgian Shops, The Shops at North Bridge and Water Tower Place outdoors along North Michigan Avenue to kick off the 2013 Magnificent Mile Shopping Festival™ presented by MasterCard®. Guests enjoyed an unforgettable evening on The Magnificent Mile with bites, cocktails and live entertainment as part of the 12-day Shopping Festival celebration.

Pamper Your Pooch Weekend
The Magnificent Mile played host to shoppers and their furry friends during “Pamper Your Pooch” weekend. Guests enjoyed special pet-friendly activities and amenities throughout the district, including complimentary pet photo sessions in the MasterCard Priceless Pavilion, pet-friendly overnight stays at hotels around the district, a Canine Cruise with Mercury Chicago's Skyline and more!
A Magnificent Taste
Top celebrity chefs Art Smith and Rick Bayless and 17 of Chicago’s top restaurants served up delicious bites during “A Magnificent Taste,” The Magnificent Mile’s annual outdoor culinary event under a beautiful tent in full view of scenic North Michigan Avenue. A portion of the proceeds will benefit Common Threads.

DMG Recording Artist Coco Jones Live in Concert
The Magnificent Mile presented DMG Recording Artist Coco Jones live in concert over Labor Day Weekend! The Radio Disney AM 1300 Road Crew revved up the crowd with a live performance, followed by a teen fashion show, courtesy of Water Tower Place, highlighting the season’s most stylish back-to-school looks. Then, Coco Jones took the stage to perform her latest hits! A meet-and-greet with Coco, exclusively for MasterCard cardholders in the MasterCard Priceless Pavilion, immediately followed the concert.

Meet-and-Greet with Laura Marano, star of Disney Channel's "Austin & Ally"
On September 2, MasterCard® cardholders were invited to an exclusive meet-and-greet with Laura Marano, star of Disney Channel's Austin & Ally, at the MasterCard Priceless pavilion! Guests who showed their MasterCard card at the MasterCard Priceless Pavilion gained access to the meet-and-greet.

OTHER SHOPPING FESTIVAL HAPPENINGS
Fashion Forward at AT&T
Guests who shopped on by the AT&T flagship store had the chance to win a Technology Makeover! Shoppers enjoyed a first-look at the Moto X Quick Capture Camera, free consultations from a Color Analyst and free express manicures while learning about touchless control with Moto X.
American Girl Events
Girls were treated to a full line-up of activities at American Girl Place throughout the Shopping Festival including Saige’s Art Event with Crayola® Model Magic, Doll Do’s & How To’s and Bitty Baby’s Story Time.
Events at the Art Institute of Chicago
In celebration of the Impressionism, Fashion, and Modernity exhibit, the Art Institute of Chicago offered a series of fashion-focused events for all ages including The Artist Studio: Artful Accessories, the chance to experiment with a variety of interesting papers, fabric scraps and assorted trims to create wonderful, wearable fashion accessories inspired by the exhibit; Dressed to the Nines, special Saturday evening viewings of the exhibit celebration favorite fashion trends of 19th-century Paris; and Express Talks: Hats and Bonnets, a gallery talk highlighting masterpieces from around the museum.

Mile Style with SPLASH
Stylish shoppers along North Michigan Avenue strut their stuff for The Magnificent Mile's first-ever Street Style Campaign, in partnership with SPLASH. Fashion favorites made SPLASH’s widely-read “Who Wore What Where” section.
Sip and Shop at Tommy Bahama
Tommy Bahama kicked off the first weekend of the Shopping Festival with a “Sip and Shop” event with in-store DJ entertainment at both store locations around the district. Shoppers also received a gift with purchase.
Water Tower Place Activities
To celebrate the Shopping Festival’s “Pet Weekend,” Water Tower Place hosted a free in-center event with the favorite Dr. Seuss character from the Broadway Playhouse production, “THE CAT IN THE HAT.”
After Hours with Lincoln Park Young Professionals
Water Tower Place set the scene for an exclusive, posh after-hours soirée featuring music, hors d'oeuvres and cocktails and private access to the mall.
The Nation’s Bao Eating Contest
To commemorate Wow Bao’s 10th anniversary at Water Tower Place and the sale of its 10 millionth bao, the restaurant hosted a fast-paced eating contest, looking for the contestant who could eat the most bao in two minutes.
Shoppers Energy Brunch + Fall Fashion
Shoppers had the opportunity to fuel up before shopping in Water Tower Place! While enjoying special brunch items, guests received a first-look at the hottest fall trends from select fashion retailers from Water Tower Place.
Teen Fashion Show
Fashion- and music-loving kids were treated to an outdoor “Teen Fashion Show” by Water Tower Place during the Coco Jones concert in John Hancock Center Plaza. A number of Water Tower Place retailers showcased the season’s top fall and back-to-school trends for teens.
Sparkling Cocktail Hour with Trump International Hotel & Tower and Swarovski
The Trump International Hotel & Tower sponsored a “Sparkling Cocktail Hour” presented by Swarovski, held in the Rivers Room on the sixteenth floor of the hotel. Guests had the opportunity to try on Swarovski crystals and jewelry from an upcoming fall collection, and had their photo taken as part of a glamorous “red carpet” photo station.
The Napier Jewelry Book Event at Lulu's Vintage
Lulu's Vintage hosted a rare opportunity to meet Melinda Lewis, jewelry historian and author of The Napier Co.:Defining 20th Century American Costume Jewelry. Laurie Davis, owner and curator of Lulu's Vintage, displayed some of the most notable Napier pieces from her private collection as well as a selection of Napier jewelry available for purchase.
ROOF Runway with ROOF on theWit and The Shops at North Bridge
The ROOF on theWit, along with The Shops at North Bridge, presented a one-of-a-kind fashion show, 27 stories above the city! Guests enjoyed the hottest fashions from Nordstrom, Tommy Bahama, Swarovski and more, along with live entertainment from delaChapelle.
